This is my way to tell Socrates B. Villegas that I am one of the 16 million + Filipinos who have elected President Duterte on May 9, 2016. Also I believe that the answer to our problems is Unity not Resignation of Duterte.

Our Philippine Constitution does not envisage President’s resignation as a solution to any problem. In Duterte’s administration, the human rights are protected in the Philippines, that even the highest man in the land can be called upon for his actions and that every citizen accused of a crime has the right to the due process of law.
Politicians are fighting for powers
If there is chaos in the Philippines, it is because politicians are fighting for powers and are using the innocent masses to acquire it. The one who are paying the price for this are the poor people and the country.
The Philippines was once a tormented nation
I know that Socrates B. Villegas knew it that before President Duterte take off to Malacanang, he saw it that the Philippines was a tormented nation because of corruptions, crimes and illegal drugs industry in the country that the former administration of Noynoy Aquino has failed to fix them. He knew it also that the presence of this drug in the country has killed people, relationships and dreams.
Way to save the Philippines
In order to avoid more disorder and chaos in the country, the Filipinos should let the law takes it course and remain united. That is the only way to save the Philippines and we all should help our legally elected president to run the country. President Duterte shows great achievement on his first 15 months of office compared to the six years of Noynoy Aquino's administration.
President Duterte's Consistent Declaration
I can still remember President Duterte’s message and call to the Filipino people during the campaign period, he said, I quote “I am here because the Filipinos are suffering in the hands of corrupt government officials and its failure to protect and provide the needs of its people. I am here to correct and establish order in my beloved country. Many will stop me, many will go against me and many even try to kill me because my principle and dignity over on how to fix this country. This will be my last candidacy due to my age. But if God bless me with your help, I might change this country that you all be proud of and my legacy will extend far beyond next Filipino generation.”
Socrates B. Villegas and his stances on Political issues
I know for a long time that Socrates B. Villegas is also a very controversial figure in the Philippines due to his stances on political issues like:
- RH Bill
- the re-imposition of death penalty
- alleged human rights violations
- killing of criminals
- extrajudicial killings under the Duterte administration
- the Marcos burial at LNMB
- now opposing Duterte's good intentions for the country
Pero para sa akin may mali akong nakikita kay Socrates B. Villegas. Yes. He can express his freedom of expression - pero yong gamitin niya iyon para manawagan sa mga mamamayan at makiisa sa mga taong gustong patalsikin sa puwesto ang pangulo ay hindi makatarungan at taliwas sa aral na nakasaad sa Roman 13:1-6.
Government rulers are God's servants
In Roman 13: 1-6 says, I quote "All of you must obey the government rulers. Everyone who rules was given the power to rule by God. And all those who rule now were given that power by God. So anyone who is against the government is really against something God has commanded. Those who are against the government bring punishment on themselves. People who do right don’t have to fear the rulers. But those who do wrong must fear them. Do you want to be free from fearing them? Then do only what is right, and they will praise you. Rulers are God’s servants to help you. But if you do wrong, you have reason to be afraid. They have the power to punish, and they will use it. They are God’s servants to punish those who do wrong. So you must obey the government, not just because you might be punished, but because you know it is the right thing to do. And this is why you pay taxes too. Those rulers are working for God, and they give all their time to the work of ruling."
On behalf of the 100 million+ Filipinos – I would ask and request Socrates Buenaventura Villegas to extend his hand, love, compassion, respect, trust and support to President Duterte - following what is said in Roman 13:1-6?
