Dahil sa Revocation of Amnesty, ginawang santwaryo ang Senado ni Sen Antonio Trillanes IV. Lumalabas ngayon na ang Senado is not just a place where to create and to pass a law. It is also a sacred safe place para pag-taguan ng isang senador na may hinaharap na kaso.
According to UNTV reports the said Amnesty was granted to former Lt. Senior Grade Antonio Trillanes IV now Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV by former President Benigno Aquino III in 2010 under Proclamation No. 75.
However, on August 31, 2018, Proclamation Order No. 572, signed by the President Duterte and was published on September 4, 2018, stating that the amnesty granted to former Lt. Senior Grade Antonio Trillanes IV in 2010 was void from the start because he failed to apply for amnesty and he never admitted guilt for the coup plots.
The reasons why President Rodrigo Duterte revoked the amnesty granted to him in 2010 in connection to his involvement in many coup attempts during the administration of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
